volunteers sought to explore three archetypes of belonging
I'm looking for collaborative volunteers to join me in a pilot research project that will explore archetypes (foundational creative energies) that are central to our belonging.
This research arises from nearly two decades of working with and learning from the Enneagram of Personality. While that body of work has offered me valuable insights into many personality patterns of modern people, the work also feels weighted by the timeframes and biases of the people who have developed it. Today's use of the Enneagram as a "typing" tool has lost touch with its mystical roots as a sacred geometry.
Nine-pointed geometries have arisen at different times in recorded history and were (seemingly) used as a tool of expansion by ancient mystery schools. This became apparent to me in 2018, when the sacred geometry of the Enneagram began 'opening up.' Following an inner vision, I explored what arose in my awareness when the geometry was expanded from nine points to twelve. This movement revealed a Wheel of Wisdom and a flood of insights into the evolutionary nature of human character and how it interacts with belonging.
This Wheel of Wisdom appears to herald an emergent paradigm in which individual and collective wisdom will join together to unlock new ways of living in balance with life's mysteries. It is the combined power of the individual and the collective that this research project seeks to express and learn from.
Our co-creative project will rely on the intelligence of our bodies and direct personal experience to gain understandings that are highly personal yet collectively relevant. Our process will employ self-reflection, music, movement, writing, and curious fun, with the hope of yielding meaning and pleasure for all.
Participant volunteers are sought for a May 2021 pilot, consisting of two Zoom calls (as a group) as well as individual observations during the week between those calls.
Saturday, May 8, 2021 - 9:00am to 12:30pm

Q. Which Archetypes Will We Explore?
While the full research project will explore all nine archetypes that undergird what’s become the Enneagram of Personality, this pilot will focus on what I’m affectionately calling the Three Muses that are foundational to the experience of being a human self.
Q. What Are You Looking for in Participants?
Our process will rely on your open-hearted participation. We will likely be a group of mostly “strangers” and our time together is limited and online, so I’m looking for people who are able to trust life enough to surrender to our group process and fully participate. Introverts and extroverts are welcome. Those whom are comfortable with creative expression and those who are less comfortable are welcome. Your curiosity, generosity, and compassionate consideration of yourself and others are most important.
No prior experience with the Enneagram is necessary for this research-play!
What Participants Can Expect:
While I’ll offer just enough theory to provide helpful context, this project is not designed to teach the theoretical framework of the Wheel of Wisdom. What will be emphasized instead is cultivating your own, embodied experience and imaginal relationship with the archetypal energies. My role is to facilitate your direct encounter with these archetypes, in different ways, so that we can all learn from them.
In other words, the archetypes themselves will be our teachers and our group container will provide a portal through which they can communicate with/as us, with the intention that they give us fresh insight into the nature of being human.
If you’re available and would like to join us, please email me this week and I will confirm your participation with an email reply!
