Last Sunday, I had the great pleasure of guiding a group of women in an afternoon mini-retreat in which we slowed down enough to catch up with ourselves and “taste the nectar of being.
Everyone is fundamentally nourished by interconnectedness. Even those of us who shy away from groups and prefer our solitude have an innate yearning for meaningful contact.
What’s remarkable is that this essential need to be in sync with ourselves and each other has become a luxury. The satisfying sense of authentic connection has become so antithetical to modern living that, most often, we need a dedicated space, activity, and facilitator to effectively drop in and be truly present with ourselves, with others, and with the natural world to which we belong.
It’s taken me years to clearly articulate that being a catalyst for that kind of nourishing engagement is what I love to do. It’s the essence of my life and work. I’ve often felt sheepish to offer those skills as my means of making a living. In large part because our culture and economic system don’t recognize their importance.
However, the isolating effects of the recent pandemic made painfully obvious our innate longing to be together. These days, more people are seeking and valuing the art of guiding people into meaningful communion with themselves and others.
These days, the Wheel of Wisdom—a sacred geometry of belonging—is my primary ally when facilitating encounters that matter. Which brings me to why I’m writing you today…
I’m introducing my newsletter at WheelofWisdom.org and part one of a two-part story of how the Wheel of Wisdom came into being, and the key within it that unlocks our creative gifts and new dimensions of being:
Part two will be published on May 25th:
However we find our way, it’s my prayer that each and every one of us remember and feel how we belong to ourselves and to life.
